Data Sorting

Sorting data is ordering values of data fields in a specific direction. You can sort data in a report using various ways.

Note:
Due to different version of component using, the image and user guide for Report Designer might have slightly different from the component using in Xin 365.

Data can be:

  • Sorted in ascending order. In case with row values, the sorting is carried out from A to Z and for numeric values from Smallest to Largest.
  • Sorted in descending order. In case with row values, the sorting is carried out from Z to A and for numeric values from Largest to Smallest.
  • No sorting, i.e. they are transferred to a report in the order where they are contained in data sources.

To Create the Sorting Criteria

1. Double click on DataBand in the report design, choose Sort tab.

2. Click on Add Sort on the top left, a new row of sorting criteria created. Choose the 3 dots button (...) to select which field to be sorted from the data source.

3. Choose to sort the data by ascending or descending from the dropdown option on the right.

4. The data can be sorted by more than one field. Just continue click on Add Sort to create more sorting criteria.
